AUD is a medical condition where individuals struggle to stop or control alcohol consumption despite negative consequences. This brain disorder can be mild, moderate, or severe and is not due to a lack of self-discipline. Treatment options include behavioural therapies, mutual-support groups, and medications.

Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms

Symptoms include headaches, sweating, tremors, insomnia, fatigue, mood changes, gastrointestinal disturbances, heart palpitations, confusion, and seizures. Symptoms may worsen over 2 to 3 days and require medical help.
