Welcome to Envision Mind Care's ADHD Program

We understand that living with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can be challenging, and we are here to help. Our specialized outpatient program is designed to provide comprehensive care to individuals struggling with ADHD, offering the latest evidence-based treatments and innovative therapies to help you achieve the best possible outcomes.

What is ADHD?

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity.

  • Our ADHD program at Envision Mind Care involves detailed assessment for ADHD using Diagnostic Interview for Adult ADHD (DSM-5) Criteria,

  • Clarification on comorbid conditions focussing on Sleep, Eating Issues and drug dependency issues.

  • Treatment includes finding the right medication, lifestyle modifications, ADHD psychoeducational programs for patients and spouses and ADHD individual coaching.

  • Our Psychologists can do comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for accommodation purposes.

At Envision Mind Care we believe clients suffering from ADHD lead to physical, emotional, sexual, and financial trauma affecting relationships, and poor workplace performance leading to chronic low self-esteem (I know I am smart, but I am not good enough) . We offer ADHD program to address all the above issues.

Due to the high volume of referrals received, clients will be screened for initial assessments by psychologists (done in 2 parts) followed by a one-off appointment with a psychiatrist for clarification on diagnosis and advice on further management. Clients could be referred to the family physician if they could not participate in the ADHD program.

Treatment Program for ADHD

Step 1: Initial Assessment with Therapist and Consultant Psychiatrist

Upon admission to our program, you will receive a thorough assessment by our experienced therapist or consultant psychiatrist. This assessment will involve evaluating your symptoms, medical history, and personal goals for treatment. We take the time to understand your unique needs and tailor a treatment plan that fits you.

Step 2: Clarification on Diagnosis

Once the assessment is complete, we will provide you with a clear understanding of your ADHD diagnosis. Our team will explain in simple terms what ADHD is, its causes, and how it may manifest in your specific case. We believe that education and understanding are crucial in empowering you to take an active role in your treatment journey.

Step 3: Advice on Management

Based on your assessment and diagnosis, our team will offer comprehensive advice on managing your ADHD. This may include a combination of evidence-based treatments and innovative therapies tailored to your individual needs.

Evidence-based treatments include:

  1. Medication: Stimulants or non-stimulants can be prescribed to help balance neurotransmitters in the brain, reducing hyperactivity and improving focus for those with ADHD.

  2. ADHD Coaching : Focuses on identifying the strengths of the individual and reinforcing it, at the same time keeping people accountable.

  3. Psychoeducational Group : Psychoeducational groups for adults with ADHD and their significant others (PEGASUS) is an effective treatment option to increase ADHD knowledge and general life satisfaction in psychiatric outpatient care.

Step 4: Program Duration

Individual coaching programs are weekly program with ADHD coaches usually lasting for 8 sessions. Some patients might need a longer program lasting for months. We strongly encourage clients with ADHD to use medications unless their ADHD is mild.

Psychoeducational Program is typically an 8-week group program. This program includes education about ADHD including its genetic contribution to your children and the impact it has on your personal life and work life; discussing of other associated mental health conditions including emotional dysregulation, sleeping and eating issues; medication treatment including the possibility of tolerance, finally what you need to keep yourself well on the long run.

Step 5: Follow-Up Care

We will be following up clients at Envision only who could afford to be part of the treatment program. All patients including those in the program will be discharged back to their own family physician with comprehensive advise. Our physician might be able to follow up some patients which will be decided based on capacity.
